The spread of the financial turmoil has led to sluggish consumption in the European and American textile markets, and consumer demand has begun to shift to high-quality and inexpensive Chinese products. The competitiveness of Chinese textiles in the international market has not changed. This not only brings greater trade opportunities for China's home textile companies, but also highlights the huge potential of China's textile consumer market. The reporter learned at the promotion meeting of the 15th China International Home Textiles and Accessories Expo, Asia's largest and most influential exhibition, that China has become the first choice for overseas home textiles to open up markets under the financial crisis. In response to the request of more overseas exhibitors, the scale of the overseas exhibition area of the Home Textile Exhibition that will open in Shanghai at the end of August this year will be expanded, and overseas buyers have shown great attention to the Chinese market. The survey shows that China’s home textile production and consumption account for about 23% of the country’s total textile industry, while Japan and the United States account for one-third of the total. This shows that China’s textile market still has a lot of room for enlargement. . In addition, China’s home furnishing consumption has reached 300 billion yuan, and this figure is still growing at an annual rate of 30%, of which 25% of the home furnishing consumption expenditure is used for home textile consumption. At the same time, the Chinese government's four trillion yuan economic stimulus plan has also attracted overseas buyers' attention to the Chinese market. Most of the funds in the plan will be used for affordable housing projects, which will have a traction effect on China's textile market demand, especially in emerging markets such as rural areas, which will significantly increase. At present, the rural population, which accounts for 70% of China's total population, consumes only 20% of the total consumption of home textiles. The increasing market demand of the rural population will promote the long-term development of China's home textile market. |
